Armed group kills 8 Iraqi Soldiers Killed and Burned,Gunmen killed eight Iraqi soldiers and burn their corpses. The incident occurred at a checkpoint in western Iraq.

"Male-unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpoint located between Baiji and Haditha, killing eight soldiers," said a police official who declined to be named told AFP on Tuesday (09/06/2011).

The attack occurred about 100 kilometers northeast of Haditha, in Anbar province. The soldiers were members of an army division to-7.

The checkpoint is located on a strategic route that connects the two Sunni provinces: Anbar and Salaheddin. Through these streets, Iraqi insurgents commonly carry weapons between the two provinces.
